The nutrition
component focus is on the
overall child’s health and well
being. Children are served two nutritious
meals and one snack per day. These
meals meet the State, USDA and Head
Start Standards guidelines concerning
nutrition. The meals and snacks provide
children with ½ to 2/3 of their
daily nutrition needs. Meals are served
family style; bowls of seconds are
placed on the table, which encourages
interaction between the children and
staff. Special menus are also prepared
for children that have food allergies
or life style eating habits.
