POSITION:                                  Part time (as needed basis)

Office Location:                             Floyd, Gordon, Polk, and Rockmart HS

Salary Range:                                $7.57 per hour
                                                     

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direct supervision of the Center Manager, Substitute Teachers will provide direct assistance to the classroom teacher.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION :

1. Assists with all class activities in absence of a Teacher, according to the appropriate level of each child and in accordance with the daily schedule.
2. Supervise and be responsible for the safety of all children assigned to care.
3. Maintain center and classroom in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
4. Assist to maintain classroom order using age appropriate behavior management techniques.
5. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to relate well with young children
• CDA Credentials or enrolled in Early Childhood Education Programs
• Individual with both oral and written English/Spanish bilingual skills

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must pass the Work Keys basic skills test at the certificate level (silver certificate preferred)
• Must have access to transportation
• Ability to relate well with other adults (parents, co-workers etc…)
